Russet Orange, Power Retractable Hard Top! Suicide Rear Doors!
This 1966 Lincoln Continental convertible is a mechanical marvel, ahead of its time with countless innovations designed to improve the motoring experience. This car represents Detroit's finest hour. If it helps for context, consider that we put men on the moon just three years later. This car has space-age technology!
Starting on the outside, cast your loving gaze on the inviting Russet Metallic finish that sparkles with the promise of sunsets on the beach and warm memories of summer campfire friendships. The chrome, glass, and convertible top are all in great condition. Riding on white walls with brilliant hubcaps, you can see yourself in the reflection—can you see yourself in this Lincoln?
Open the rear suicide doors, and the power windows automatically drop about four inches to clear the convertible top. Close the rear doors, and the windows automatically return to their full up position. The operation of the top is itself a mechanical ballet, with ten relays, five reversing motors, and thirteen limit switches that must all operate in proper sequence. The top can be operated from inside, or outside with a key near the gas cap. The top locks to and unlocks from the windshield bar automatically. It's a wonder to see in operation!
Once inside, you'll certainly be impressed at the car's modernity. Beyond simple heating or cooling, the 1966 Lincoln Continental had automatic temperature control for the first time. Set the temperature and heat or air conditioning is applied as necessary for climate control. The emberglo interior is in excellent condition, with comfortable six-way electric power seats, and carpets that look brand new.
On the road, the torquey 462 ci V8 pulls admirably through Ford's C6 automatic transmission, the first year for both the engine and the transmission. Road feel, by design, is practically non-existent, and the power steering allows you one-finger maneuverability. Power front disc brakes and rear drums keep you safe.
In looks and performance, the '66 Lincoln Continental convertible is the ultimate in cruising. This incredible car is fresh, powerful, quiet, and smooth—everything a luxury car should be. It's the finest mass-produced domestic automobile of its time, and retains this reputation still. Call Art & Speed at (901) 850-0507 if you enjoy the finer things of life.
